What Are Liners?

A chimney liner is a tube inside the chimney that contains combustion products and directs them safely out of the home. Most older homes have clay tile liners that can crack over time. A stainless steel liner is a durable, code-compliant solution for relining an older chimney or sizing a flue for a new appliance.
